The Zoom F8 is a 10-track, 8-channel multi-track field recorder and mixer with 8 XLR inputs with independent gain control, limiting, panning and delay, along with a stereo mix track, super low-noise preamps, and support for 24-bit/192kHz audio. These inputs record to a dual SD card system simultaneously, allowing instant backups or split recording capabilities.
The F8 also includes a built-in time code generator, a full color screen, and two mini XLR and one mini-sub output. It can be powered either by a 4 pin Hirose battery pack, wall charger or by eight AA batteries. The user can also set the voltage level in which power sources are changed.
The F8 can be used with any Zoom proprietary microphones. including the X-Y, Mid-Side, and shotgun H6 microphone modules. The F8 is also the first mixer with Bluetooth connectivity allowing the use an iOS device and the Zoom F8 Control app to remotely control the mixer and its functions. The app also allows the user to easily add metadata, rename files and set the date and time from the iOs device.
