Description:

Reporting directly to the Head of Entertainment, the Senior Sound Designer/ Composer will be responsible for composing and generating music, audio design and sound FX. You oversee the audio team with maturity and leadership. You will use your leadership skills to manage the audio team, directing the team to deliver to the highest quality standards while maintaining tight delivery schedules. In addition to managing the audio team you are also responsible for maintaining the audio pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement audio for online world
  • Ensure that all audio conforms to the technical guidelines of the online world
  • Provide direction to the audio team
  • Provide input on audio technologies
  • Give appropriate feedback to improve the creative process in a collaborative environment whilst seeking and utilizing feedback from peers and leads
  • Participate in Sound Department initiatives/tool development
  • Participate in Studio and project initiatives/development
  • Schedule internal audio department production as well as external resources
  • Design/edit sound effects for game
  • Mix and master cut-scenes
  • Author, implement and test sounds at runtime
  • Compose original music as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in designing creative, nuanced sound on schedule
  • Proficiency in mixing cinemas with modern audio-post equipment such as Pro Tools, Sound Forge, Vegas, VST, TDM, and RTAS
  • Understanding of popular trends in kids music, SFX including vocal recording and mixing
  • Extensive experience with audio authoring (FMOD) and game implementation techniques (emitters, animation notifies etc.)
  • Have shipped a minimum of two online game titles as a sound designer
  • Have four years + experience as a Senior Sound Designer and team leader
  • Avid video game player, including MMO’s and social games with a good knowledge of kids games
  • Well-versed in audio concepts, audio integration techniques and game music
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work within tight deadlines and demonstrate a high degree of experience, flexibility and original thought
