Hi there,

Hope you’re fine. We’d like to introduce you to ‘Negative Mass’, a free collective sound bank that our label VIC NIC has recently put together, comprised of 60 royalty free samples and soundscapes, recorded during lockdown by AGF, BJ Nilsen, Budhaditya Chattopadhyay, Hugo Branco, Kyoka, Laura Romero, Miguel Isaza and Sonoscopia in Colombia, Finland, Germany, India, Netherlands and Portugal.

Here’s a quick video demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGk7lnaRebo

The sound bank was developed within the ‘New Chronologies of Sound’ project, a sound art collection which also featured Matthew Herbert, Lawrence English, Diana Combo and Natalia Valencia Zuluaga, focusing on issues related to how the Covid-19 lockdown affected our ways of listening, perception of time and creative practices. The project included a limited edition of vinyl and CD; an arts residency, sound performance and round table held in Portugal; a collection of written essays; and an exhibition that will take place at the Museum of Modern Arts of Medellín this coming March. VIC NIC is a circulatory device for sonic, visual and written artworks. Our mission is to stimulate experimentation and co-creation by facilitating the research, production and diffusion of unique world views. More about us: https://lifeisavicnic.com/
