The Music+Sound Awards are back for another year, globally celebrating sound and music in film, TV and advertising.

Submissions can now be made, up until 29th March, via the Awards’ site.

Anyone who has worked, in any capacity, on a project they feel has been significantly enhanced by the music or sound is invited to enter.

There are categories for television and online advertising, feature films, short films, television programmes, title sequences, branding and trailers. Each of these areas will be judged for: best original composition, best sound design, best sync, best re-record and best use of production music. Work must have been first broadcast or released, or completed in the case of short films, between April 1st 2018 and March 31st 2019.

Last year’s winners included: sound designers OLIVER TARNEY and MICHAEL FENTUM who won The Krotos Audio Award for Best Sound Design in a Feature Film Score for their work on Alien: Covenant; sound house, HACKENBACKER, who won with TV drama Jamestown; WAVE STUDIOS for their sound on the Finlandia ‘Fin & Tonic’ ad; and composers HANS ZIMMER, JACOB SHEA and DAVID FLEMING for THE BLEEDING FINGERS CUSTOM MUSIC SHOP who won Best Original Composition in a Television Programme Score for Blue Planet II.

All entries are vetted by a panel of independent industry experts, who follow a stringent judging criteria, ensuring that the very best are awarded and held aloft. The rigorous judging standards are what make The Music+Sound Awards the most prestigious and eminent competition for the industries involved.

This year the panel includes the likes of film sound designers OLIVER TARNEY and ALEX JOSEPH and ad sound designers MARK HELLABY at 750MPH, London and DAN FLOSDORF at HEARD CITY, New York.
